Taylor Royal is bad for Nebraska.
The Real Taylor Royal
Nebraska voters deserve a representative who is honest about who he is. Taylor Royal is not that candidate.
Taylor Royal has a well-documented pattern of extremist connections, family-funded campaigns, and extreme positions.
Royal calls himself a moderate. He calls himself an outsider. He says he wants to unite people. That's the sales pitch.
Here's what Taylor Royal’s record actually shows.
Deep Trump ties — Taylor Royal launched his LD 18 campaign at an event with his supporter and friend Charles Herbster — Trump's handpicked candidate for Nebraska governor, who faced multiple sexual assault allegations. And in 2017, Taylor Royal attacked Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert — his own party's incumbent — for one reason: she hadn't voted for Donald Trump. Royal has been building these connections for years. He's not a moderate who drifted toward extreme views. He went looking for it.
Family money, not grassroots support — Royal calls himself an outsider. But his campaigns have never been funded by everyday Nebraskans. He spent $240k of his father's money on his failed 2017 mayoral campaign. According to the latest fundraising reports, they've given tens of thousands to fund his campaign for state treasurer too.
Nebraska voters have already rejected Taylor Royal three times.
